Modern smartphones suck. Most NPC drones don't think enough to realize how horrible smartphones are nowadays. Instead, they're willing to suffer with whatever the latest iPhone is because it "Just works" and they don't have to put any further thought into it. Normies HATE thinking, so this is ideal. They also think having an iPhone is a requirement (specifically American drones). I'd like to outline a few different reasons as to why I hate modern smartphones.
There is zero reason why the headphone jack should be absent on any smartphone. There is enough space. The big tech companies just want more money. If there's no headphone jack, you're more inclined to purchase the wireless headphones that the company offers, or the 3.5mm headphone adapter. Removing the headphone jack is purely a profit-motivated decision from these large companies. Instead of passing around the aux cord, normies now just connect via bluetooth. Bluetooth sucks for many reasons. There is not a single benefit that I can think of in removing the headphone jack.
If you want to increase the amount of storage on your phone nowadays, you have two options. Either delete some stuff, or pay monthly for cloud storage. You should absolutely not be using any sort of cloud storage. I personally transfer files to my computer quite often to avoid data loss and free up space on my phone. Hard drives are quite cheap now, and cloud storage sucks. I could write an entire article about why cloud storage sucks, so I won't expand on that for now. Android phones used to have Micro SD card slots, but most modern Android smartphones do not have Micro SD card slots anymore in hopes that the cattle will purchase their evil cloud storage """solution""". Sure, most modern phones give you quite a bit of space to begin with. My Pixel 7 had 128GB included. But I should be able to upgrade the storage if I want to.
iPhone users never had the luxury of hotswapping their batteries. Older Android phones used to allow you to remove the battery and replace it. This hasn't been the case for many years at this point. Now if your battery goes bad, you have to go to the manufactorer directly and ask them to replace it for a high price. They realized that they could be making slightly more money if they take away the option to replace your own battery with ease, so they did.
Why are modern smartphones so large? Seriously, who wants a phone that is almost the size of a tablet. It's just annoying to carry around a mini-tablet in my pocket. The iPhone SE 2020 is actually the perfect size, but my Google Pixel 7 is massive compared to the iPhone SE 2020. Why? I'd prefer if phones didn't continue to increase in screen size. One day everyones gonna have an iPad Mini in their back pocket with the way things are going. I don't want my phone to feel like an anvil in my pocket. Not because of the weight, but because it's so noticable. I swear that's just my phone stop asking questions.
Remember when smartphones had plastic backs? Well, that made way to much sense, so they had to start implementing glass backs into their phones. Glass backs make a phone far more breakable, which means more profit for the company. Phone manufacturers go out of their way to make their phones less repairable and more breakable simply to maximize profits while pretending that they care about the environment by excluding headphones and a charger from the phone box. Their end goal is to screw over the user. A glass back does not make the phone look better. And who actually cares about looks in regards to smartphones? If you care about looks regarding smartphones, you should kill yourself because you are gay and retarded.
Most modern smartphone cameras are on par with professional cameras. This presents somewhat of a problem, albeit minor to most people. The file size of videos specifically are ridiculously massive. You also cannot change the resolution that you record in on most devices. Some devices give you a little control (such as reduced quality recording settings), but generally you cannot specify what resolution you want to record videos in. Why can we not choose? Other than that, modern phone cameras and honestly pretty great. I'm just really annoyed at the large file sizes. I often have to compress videos that I take with a smartphone just to reduce the file size.
I recently had to go back to using an iPhone because my Google Pixel 7 broke. I was able to get a free replacement for my Pixel 7, but I hated that iPhone beyond belief. It caused me an incredible amount of frustration to the point where I will NEVER ever even consider getting an iPhone for any reason going forward. So here are some iPhone specific gripes I have.
For one, the file system makes ZERO sense. When I want to transfer videos/photos to my PC, the content is seperated by month/year. For example, all pictures/videos I took in July 2024 will be in a folder together. On any android phone I've used, the files were seperated by screenshots, pictures, etc. but whatever. The main gripe I have here is the fact that NONE of the metadata is retained when transferring a file from an iPhone to PC. It's so annoying to the point where I didn't even bother taking pictures/videos with my iPhone. It's so pathetic that an iPhone cannot retain the metadata of any pictures/videos you take.
There is also no reason why Apple couldn't implement USB-C way earlier than they did. It only took EU lawmakers for Apple to finally implement USB-C on newer iPhones, however older iPhones are still using the garbage lightning connector. Literally every other device I own uses USB-C, even 6-year-old android phones. But no, Apple wants to feel special so they use a garbage proprietary charger like the fudge-packing faggots they are. How obnoxiously annoying and gay.
I just hate iOS in general. I can't download the f-droid store or anything similar, so I didn't even bother watching YouTube on my phone because I get violently angry when I have to deal with advertisements. Seriously, I'm shocked that normies just deal with this crap without thinking twice about it. I couldn't just drag and drop my music MP3 files to my phone, so I didn't use my phone to listen to music. It also doesn't have a headphone jack, so double whammy there. It's cool to see how iOS is a lot more privacy-oriented than they were when I last used an iPhone, but I'd rather use a stock android phone because of how bad iOS is. The cool new privacy features are just a band-aid to the gunshot.
Okay, so modern smartphones suck. What do we do with this information? Stop using smartphones from large companies. The ideal smartphone is just some chinkphone that you get from some random no-name manufactorer for $40. There is no reason to spend more than $200 on a smartphone. Most people use the same four apps everyday anyway, so there's no reason to spend hundreds of dollars on a phone that you are going to upgrade in 2 years from now. Most people can get away with using a $40 chinkphone as their daily driver, they just don't want to because they're pathetic babies who need their iPhone 18 Plus Pro Max XS so they can watch Tik Tok in their bed while they eat Takis and feel validated by having an iPhone.
Luckily, I do not have to pay for my own phone right now. If I did, I would just buy some cheap chinese Android phone. I only really use my smartphone in situations where it's the only option. I'd much rather use a laptop as it's easier to do stuff on a laptop rather than a phone.
Smartphone companies have done their absolute best to screw over the consumer and maximize profits in any way they possibly can. Do not continue to support these evil companies. You have other options.
