We are watching the destruction of the free Internet in front of us. The UK passed their "Online Safety Act" a couple years back and the consequences are catching up to us now. YouTube and Spotify have announced age verification requirements to view/watch certain content. Even pizza delivery services in the UK are starting to require customers to identify themselves in some cases when ordering a pizza. Things are getting really bad really quickly and I sadly don't see things getting better (for a long time, anyway).
We've watched as our online privacy was slowly eroded away for years as normies sat by and didn't do or say anything about it. It wasn't enough of a threat to the common man for it to be an issue worth mentioning. Now that the government is openly stripping away your privacy in catastrophic ways, only NOW people start to show concern. It's frustrating to people like us who have been voicing our concerns for years. Regardless, it's good to see this issue get some mainstream attention.
YouTube in particular has shown how evil they truly are. They've been hostile towards third party clients, ad blockers, VPNs, and now... the entire userbase? YouTUbe announced they will start using AI to determine whether a user is above the age of 18 or not. If YouTube's AI thinks you're under the age of 18, you'll have to send in your identification to Google so they can verify that you're 18, which is just a blatant excuse to steal your personal information and put it in a database so they can tie you to your YouTube activity. They will sometimes claim this is to prevent bot activity, but we all know the truth behind this decision.
The defenders of the Online Safety Act will claim that they are trying to protect children, because of course they're going to use that as an excuse. "THINK OF THE CHILDREN! DO YOU REALLY WANT KIDS TO BE EXPOSED TO PORN?!?!?!?!" No, I don't. But maybe you should be an actual parent rather than hoping the Internet will parent for you. Instead of taking responsibility for your own children you'd rather strip people of their privacy so the big tech companies can parent for you. Pathetic. The people defending this kind of garbage should be hung by their thumbs for treason.
Payment processors are finally starting to get heat from normies for censoring games. Did we not learn anything from Gamer Gate? A feminist group from Australia pressured the payment processors to take action against pornographic games on Steam and other platforms. They were shockingly successful. That same group tried to explain that GTA V is sexist because you can kill women in the game. No, I'm not kidding. Payment processors are evil and this has been happening for a LOT longer than people realize. This is nothing new. A bunch of miserable Australian hags just decided to pressure the payment processors into censoring stuff they don't like. Sure, you can point the finger at them, but the payment processors are evil for not allowing people to spend their money how they want.
Cryptocurrency solves this issue but normies hate thinking so they will refuse to learn how to use crypto. Crypto shouldn't HAVE to be the solution, though. Americans should be able to spend their money on legal goods and services with no intervention from these evil companies.
The Online Safety Act is being proposed to the United States. I sure hope it never gets passed here but I'm not going to hold my breathe. Old people are mentally retarded and think that the technology should do the parenting for them so of course they are going to vote for the bill that gives them less responsibilities in life.
I don't mean to sound blackpilled here because I'm not. I think things are going to be fine but these are just some things to think about. That said, do not sit in silence and hope that things work themselves out. The Internet is getting worse day by day but it always has the potential to get even worse.
As I've stated/implied before in various places, decrease your reliance on big tech. Do not support these companies that literally hate you and will bash your head in with a brick if it means they can make an extra dollar in profit for their company.
